I suggested that but the infamous "miss the family" squashed it. So they'll live below standard and freeze their butts off scraping ice and shoveling snow three months a year just so they can be with family.

I charge more than you could afford for this calculation. Why not look up what Cablevision (or if FiOS is offered, Verizon) charges and look at the rest?

It's doubly painful when you have to pay so much for an older (and not as well insulated) home too.
