Just got an oil delivery from Petro today.

I have the contract with the cap at 2.29 and variable pricing.

Today's delivery was at 2.29 -

Can any one share their recent delivered price with a variable pricing contract?

Thanks

I have petro. Got a delivery a few weeks ago and price was around the same in the 2.20 range. My ceiling Is 2.60. They follow some oil pricing guide that of course is always well above COD prices.

Well you can get oil COD for $1.28 right now, so petro is F'n you. That cap and var pricing is a JOKE. Call them and DEMAND they lower the price.

I have found most of the established companies that offer contracts follow prices similar to those listed here:
Average Home Heating Oil Prices - NYSERDA

also check out the price of diesel at your local gas station, usually close.
I know it's much higher than COD. it is what it is

Yes! That is what I was referring to. Thank you. Like you said contract is never as low as COD. If I called petro and demanded they lower they would just refer to that avg price of 2.48 and say they are below it.

Slomins is worse, it is a fixed price and they want like $200 bucks to adjust it.

Another reason to pay for the service contract separately and not be locked in for oil.

Can you recommend companies that offer service separately but still provide emergency repairs? I've been using COD for the last year and a half but am considering entering a contract with Swezey strictly for the purpose of having emergency service if needed. I have a new-ish burner (7 year old Energy Kinetics System 2000) but still concerned about getting somebody here at any hour on any day should something go wrong.
