My girlfriend and I are moving into a 1 bedroom apartment in a complex, it'll be the first time either of us are going to be responsible for utilities. Trying to get an idea of what an electric bill should run us per month.

Depends on how much you use. There is no answer other than that. Anything that produces heat (hair dyer, clothes dyer, etc) will make it much higher. As a single man owning a 3 bedroom ranch 10 years ago, I was paying $75 a month. Got married and it instantly shot to $200. Go look at the electric meter when the hair dyer is turned on. Looks like a record player. Good luck.

Probably $125/150 a month.
What kind of utilities?
Electric heat, dryer, stove?

Electrical bill for a 1br apartment? Doubtful. My house isn't even that much, not even close actually. Only way you'd see that kind of bill would be all very old electric appliances, electric heat, liberal use of an older A/C.

My bills are about the same under similar circumstances.

We have room A/Cs, new, and they don't do too much damage to the electrical bill either.

When i lived in Michigan, I had a 1br apartment and, no joke, one month my bill was $12. Electric stove, too!

MY central AC does damage, but my unit is around 23yrs old and still works. A newer one would save me nearly 40% it's not worth it until the unit dies or needs an expensive repair. I always see people on here saying they have $400 electric bills I don't see how unless you live in a 4500sq ft home.

My electric bill for a 3 bedroom house is around $200 so I'd imagine yours will be much lower. Sharing walls with neighbors will cut down on cooling costs and if the living space isn't huge you should be fine. My mom's 2 bedroom trailer is usually $100-120 a month and she loves to leave stuff on

Personally, I unplug everything I'm not using. I connect everything to a power strip and if I leave the house I'll even turn the modem/router off. It's made a really big difference. You'd be surprised how much power things draw even when they're not in use.

When I was still in property management(very large co-op development) the average bill for an ALL ELECTRIC 1 bedroom was $200 a month. Some residents said $150, some cried about being $225. End units were typically on the higher end of the spectrum.

Winter was normally worse with those damn heat pumps. It only works through a certain temp range and then the auxiliary heat kicks on(electric baseboards). A duplex had average bills of $350 a month! Those are 2 beds/2bath and garage, with the garage unconditioned space.
