I'm sick of bad doctors on Long Island.
So, can anyone recommend a good orthopedist that will give you more than 2 minutes of his/her time and not treat you like merchandise?

Preferably Nassau county, but west Suffolk may work.

Thanks!

Anyone can look at an MRI and google potential treatments. People just don't follow the advice of orthopedists like physical therapy, weight loss, exercise, accupuncture, healthy habits, yoga, corticosteriods, etc. They'd rather pop an oxycontin, eat some chips and complain about their doctor. Surgery, that's a different story, but is usually the last resort.

What body part? They all specialize.

There are the factory type places like Orlin and Cohen and South Island. The examination lasts 2 seconds and then they send you for an x-ray, possibly a script for an MRI. If you have something basic, I guess that's ok, but these people haven't been helpful for me. I needed someone more thorough.

Hospital for Special Surgery is a great place to start. No, not on LI but, if you are in pain, they are cutting edge.

Where was I? I left LI in 2013 and based upon your comment I looked it up and they have been in Uniondale since 2000. I guess I was under a rock. Thanks.
