My son thinks I'm crazy but I saw what I thought was a helicopter just hovering in one place over Shirley on Tuesday night. I heard the constant rumble, looked out the window and saw red lights on whatever, with clear lights towards back end. I had my TV on and heard it over the TV so it wasn't too quiet. It appeared to be mostly hovering, not really moving much. I even made my husband look but he wasn't too curious about it. This was Tues night, really Wed morning from maybe midnight to 12:45 or so. I didn't notice any search lights being emitted, as I've seen in the past, but maybe it just wasn't noticeable from my angle?
Anyone notice it? Any ideas what could have been going on?
I thought maybe a News 'copter, like Chopper 12 but haven't read about any happenings at that time. Has me puzzled, for sure!
Sure sounds like a helicopter, probably a police helicopter or a news helicopter. The sound of one usually makes it pretty easy to tell it's a helicopter and not a UFO.
Where is it and in what town? Did you get scared of it and what did your son think it was?
Hahaha...certainly not scared, just curious. My son didn't hear it (??!) and thought I was making things up!
I pretty much know it wasn't a UFO. LOL Basically just wondering if anyone has any info on activity in Shirley on Wed early morning, just after midnight, that required a helicopter to hang around for a good 1/2 hour.
I blame the FAA, this aircraft noise over our homes SHALL NOT STAND! Why isn't anyone considering our quality of life?
