Can your wife ride a bike and is she comfortable riding one to the train station? If so you can get to the station in 5 minutes if u ride a bike. Just make sure it's a cheap one and lock down everything (seats, handlebars, wheels, etc) because people do steal bike parts if easily accessible. Good luck.

But from the google maps, I pulled up the address and check the nearby train stations and it looks as though the Malverne station is within that 1 mile.. slightly over I guess. Is it not named Malverne Station?

You should drive over to the house and from there, drive to the Malverne station..I guarantee it's not a walk you'd be looking forward to everyday. Malverne is also an Incorporated Village and the RR parking is very limited, so, they probably have parking stickers as well, and Malverne Police LOVE to give tickets
