Is there any way I can get rid of some dirt without getting a dumpster?

Depends on how much dirt you're talking about.

If a decent quantity, you could put an ad on Craigslist offering "clean fill" (assuming that's what it is) and approximately how much is available.

Alternatively you could ask your (or your neighbors') lawn service if they want it.
