Our high taxes will keep broke people out, and these people are broke. Most landlords in nicer areas would never rent to refugees as they have no references or work history. prices aren't going down. Some nut jobs just rented a 1400 sq ft house that is avg at best inside w/ a detached garage for 4k a month in my neighborhood.
They may not stay in Buffalo, but why would an immigrant with no friends or family move to long island? It is not a perfect place by any means.
They'll be hired in Calverton by next spring to work the farms. That's why they end up here. As per the missive "they do the jobs we don't want" and they have plenty of those in the summer out east. Most end up staying through the winter and there you go, new neighbors. Neither political party cares. We don't like it? We'll just have to have more babies and raise them to pick strawberries for a living. You know, good LI jobs! Ending abortion should supply us with lots of low end labor and criminals in 14-18 years just like before! Immigrants in the end almost always flock to where their "communities" (see brentwood) are and there is no large afghan community on LI hence its doubtful many will come here.
