Good for Massapequa. Filed a suit claiming the "law" is unconstitutional.
The Massapequa school district filed a lawsuit against the New York State Board of Regents on Thursday that claims the administrative agency violated its constitutional rights when it banned the use of Native American mascots, team names and imagery in state public schools.

Good for them. Also smart to file in federal court and not state court they may actually have an outside chance. Hopefully other districts join the suit.
The woke crew ain’t interested in consistency and common sense. Unless the next brain dead notion is to force the school district to change its name.

Never know with this state....
Whats next? Town names? Roads? No more Massapequa, Patchogue, Nesconset, Hauppauge, Ronkonkoma, Quoque?
I mean obviously the board of regents has no power over town names, but like you said if they could they would force it in a second!
We’ll see if they have they actually have the power to change a school district mascot/moniker name.
But beyond that…
How about the name of the school (Massapequa High School) or the name of the school district (Massapequa School District)? Indian names!!
