Howell Rd Elementary School - Valley Stream #13 (Wheeler: transfer to, top school)

Does anyone have any kids in Howell rd Elementary school in Valley Stream 13? I would prefer Wheeler since my son has a cousin that will be starting at the same time, plus I heard it's just a better school. Any thoughts or opinions.

Has anyone ever tried to switch schools within the same district, were you able to, or is it a losing battle.

I'm pretty sure you can change schools in the same district pretty easily. I don't know much bout Howell though, some of my friends went there and have siblings there.

i have a friend that lives down the block from Howell Road...all i hear are good, postive things about the school.

I actually moved into Valley Stream 4 yrs ago thinking I'll get something a little bit bigger and in a top school district when my son would start kindergarden.....well thats all changed now with this economy.

yeh this economic downturn has really been, well, a pain...i know that if you dont find howell road the school for you, you can easily transfer to another of the 7 or so elementary schools in the town/village...
