in november we have to stay in an RV park for a month in LA.
we are looking at the one on balboa road i think - now called Balboa RV park.

just how noisy is that airport?

The RV park seems to be reasonably close to museums etc.

Also is there any taxi service that is better than any other?
clean cab and an english speaking driver would be nice!

thanks all

from what i've heard, van nuys is the busiest non-commercial airport in the country. lots of planes and helicopters flying in and out, including rather larger private jets. i can get noisy. as for access to museums, the airport is right in the middle of the san fernando valley, which is mostly sleepy compared to the more famous parts of LA. As for taxis, i've heard uber and lyft are better deals than traditional taxis. something to consider.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not stay at the RV park near the Van Nuys airport, the inner roads are very narrow and difficult to navigate. It is literally UNDER the routine helicopter traffic pattern including 24/7 LAPD and LAFD patrol helicopters. It is mere hundreds of feet from the main airport operatioons.

And DO NOT stay at the one near the Northridge Mall. The manager is a total biatch. And you are packed in like sardines. I lived there 1+ years, it was my life in hell.

If you want to say in an RV park near Los Angeles go to the Valencia Travel Viliage off of CA 126 just west of I-5. It's about a mile from I-5 and you may have the fortune to meet Louise, their manager, who is a wonderful person and a total honey, and they have great facilities.

thanks
uber and lyft - new to me...
Valencia Travel Viliage ... yes we have stayed there many times.
trouble is we get lost in LA freeways etc. so we would be taking taxis to the museums.
so were were looking for something more central to the museums.
more thought definitely needed!

If you want a centrally located place and don't mind the manager from Hell then the place I'm alluding to might not be that bad for a week or 10 days. Send me a PM and I'll tell you who the sweetie is and who Satan is. I might even drop in and say hi. Two of my best friends still live there.

You gotta understand the place I'm referring to is 90% permanent and 10% transient. Maybe you'll even get the spot next to my best friends.

It's not that bad for several days. It's Hell for 2 years.

Default I could use some advise

Hi all, I'm hoping to get some advise. My mother is finalizing her divorce and has to sell her home. With what she is getting out of it there is no way to pay for a new house. but she can afford a used trailer. I'm trying to find a place that is not too expensive where she can live for extended time. If anyone has any advise it will certainly be appreciated

If you are buying used, buy as late a model as you can. Some trailer parks only accept models 5 years old or newer.
