Just saw this music video titled "Los Angeles" by Bird and the Bee

Apparently it's a 'love letter' to L.A

Thought some of you might like it

This band is not really my type of music but (I think this was them) they did a cover album of Hall and Oates songs that was kind of cool in a retro/hipster kind of way.

It's a cool video with good instrumental music but the lyrics are a little cheesy.

The Bird and the Bee is a great band in doses. Listening to a whole album feels like being stuck in an anime cartoon--in a bad way. But Inara George is a great talent (daughter of Lowell George of Little Feat, so she's got a great legacy to follow) and has done some beautiful, even haunting work, like the single "Infinity" when she was with Merrick.

They are playing this sunday at the ace hotel in DTLA if anyone interested.
Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles | Luxury Boutique Hotel in Los Angeles, California

I've been wanting to check out the Ace , it sounds pretty cool. But I likely won't go to the concert.

They have good shows there, I definitely want to go to something there at some point.

It's interesting that the Ace Hotel was recently sold because it didn't open too long ago
Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles sold for $103 million - LA Times

Appears to be a big demand for hotels in downtown L.A from foreign investors.

Investors from the U.S. and foreign countries such as China are seeking hotels in the burgeoning downtown market, he said. “We get multiple calls each week from buyers looking for properties there.”

SBE also sold an SLS hotel in Beverly Hills just recently for $195million...looks like it was bought in 2005 for $90million, so i'm sure a pretty good profit was made on that one.

It's crazy how much people are paying for these hotels. I have heard that a lot of people buy these as 'trophy properties' example is the Sultan of Brunei owning the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Thanks for sharing, the video showed off LA well. OF course she would be hanging out in echo park with music like that. Im a huge fan of LA artists. (didnt care for this though) I LOVE People under the stairs as well as Kendrick, FlyLo, Thundercat, any other artist on brainfeeder records, old school west coast rap, FIDLAR, Wavves, a few others. Love the music scene there.
