Hi-
I'm relocating to North Hollywood and work in Hollywood. I'm looking for a really good, understanding gym with trainers and (hopefully) pilates and yoga programs. Anybody have a suggestion? Thanks.

I go to the LA Fitness in Universal City and in Hollywood (both new). They are gorgeous with all the ammenities, wood lockers, the works. Not sure what you mean by "understanding gym." The gyms do have pilates and yoga classes. The Universal City location tends to be overcrowded, so something to consider.

What I mean by understanding is that if you're completely out of shape they'll work with you without a self-absorbed, I-can-make-this-chick-come-to-my-bootcamp kinda mentality. I like trainers that are professionals, not catty wannabe actors. And that's actually been hard to find.

Have you looked at Body Builders Gym in Silverlake? I know it's a little out of your way, but the trainers are great.

Oh ok that kind of "understanding." Well, then definitely do not go to LA Fitness. Many of the trainers are very catty. I love the gym by itself, but I'm not a fan of the trainers.
