In Los Angeles, when is a apartment manager needed? Are there a specific number of units that need to be exceeded?

If you are trying to become an apartment manager, check out Working World or LA Weekly they are always advertising. If you have a building and are inquiring if you need one that depends on how hands on you want to be.

All I want to know is when a manager is a must have by Los Angeles law? Are there a minimum amount of units that a building exceeds then must employ management?

this came up in conversation with my resident manager a few months ago, and i think she told me that 50 or more units required on-site management. i wish i could give a more definitive answer, but it was just something she mentioned in passing while we were discussing something else, so i didn't commit it to memory. i do remember that the number was quite a bit higher than i would have expected, and fifty certainly is that.

I just saw 3 or 4 ads on Craigslist under both Real Estate jobs and Gigs.

If the building is 16 units +, you have to have an on-site manager. Your compensation depends on what your responsibilities entail.

What is an average yearly or monthly salary to pay a manager in the Encino city area (Los Angeles County) who manages 30 units and the gross rents are approximately $32,000 per month? Also is it common to provide a couple who manages a one or two bedroom apartment?
