Tomorrow morning the marathon starts at Dodger Stadium & ends in Santa Monica [at the pier]. Is anyone running in the marathon? Is anyone going to be along the route to cheer on the competitors? I could never run an entire marathon but I will go down to Sunset Blvd in Echo Park & encourage the runners to keep on running. Hope it doesn't get too hot.

Great, I forgot about that.

That means traffic is gonna be bad when I drive up that way.

Good luck to all the marathoners.

What time is the marathon at?

I did the 1991 LA Marathon. It was pretty tough.

You pass through all these neighborhoods and you smell all this food and people partying and music, it's really neat.

It will be humid and sort of warm.

Charles, did you run the entire 26 miles? I tried to walk 25 miles once and couldn't make it all the way [but I was only 12 at the time]. Maybe some day I will run in the marathon but will need to train for it.

It was in the 80's today but only around 70F in Santa Monica where the race ends. According to tv news, people are being warned to not try and overdo it or they will get sick and faint.

Yep, my goal was to finish and not walk and I accomplished that. My longest training run was only 15 miles too.

Training for a spring marathon sort of sucks because almost all your running is at night, in fall and winter when it is dark after work. Not very cheerful.

I saw a dude running in Chuck Taylor Converse All Stars (the old school basketball shoes), also I saw a guy flipping pancakes the whole way.

This was March 3, 1991, the same day the Rodney King incident happened.
