Does anyone know what's planned for the northwest corner of the Venice Blvd/Sepulveda Blvd intersection, where up until a few weeks ago was a Chevron gas station?

It's basically just fenced off right now, wondering if something new is planned for that site.

Not sure... lots of gas stations have been closing up lately. I believe it has something to do with new environmental standards that are prohibitively expensive for some stations to implement. As a result, they are just closing up shop. Not 100% if this is true though.

most closed gas stations seem to remain as dirt lots for years to come. the clean up costs to sell the property after a gas station has been at the site make it cost prohibitive to redevelop in many cases.

Yeah, you're right BRinSM. I know it has something to do with the gas tanks below the property, but could anyone expand on this? How much time is required to pass (or air out) before it's able to be developed on?
