Like my Grandpa used to say: "Thank gawd for Mississippi!"

We're Number 2! (Based on most convictions of public officials for violation of federal corruption laws.)

Or you could look at it as we are the second best at convicting corrupt public officials. I mean who knows other states could be more corrupt but they are just not as good as uncovering it and convicting the people responsible. So way to go Louisiana.

Most Louisianians are well aware that their state is well known for its corruption, so this is not really news to most of us. Though I would say we have been making a lot of progress in improving, even if we supposedly are number 2 (the data does go all the way back to 1976 and stops at 2008). Hey, this list even shows that we are tackling the problem, we are convicting people. So again, way to go Louisiana.

There are some world class crooks up in the north east , but it has become such a way of life that people have grown to tolerate it .

Then we sure could use a few more indictments up in NW La. as it seems the Feds have missed quite a few or so it seems.

The corrupt mob-like spoils system in Louisiana is as strong now as it has been in 25 years. People are naive to think that things have changed. It's really be a marketing success (locally) in that regard.

I don't know . Huey Long was one of the biggest crooks Louisiana ever produced , although Edwin Edwards was no slouch in that regard . Still a bunch of wannabe's around though .

Saw a Edwin Edwards sign hanging nicely from a tree over a country road in Springfield yesterday. Some old southern Dems still around.
