see, that's the thing. this was an article full of these submitted by louisvillians. they are meant to be comical and maybe poke a little fun at some of our shortcomings. it amazes me how many people will get upset and not be able to laugh at themselves even a little.

you are so louisville if this article offends you.

I found a lot of them to be quite funny and spot-on. if a person didn't find any humor in any of them, maybe said person takes themselves and thier civic pride just a little too seriously?

a couple of my favorites, and i quote..
"somebody says louisville ISN'T the center of the universe and you punch them in the face, twice"
"you think terry meiners is funny"
"you think our airport is truly international"
and my fav "you kinda like the way horse**** at the track smells"

I really didn't find most of these to be negative or BASHING, just funny observances.

I formulated my "You are so Louisville" upon people and situations I've encountered in Louisville.
I think the only ones offended would be those who see themselves being described.

Civic pride? Not hardly.

I left Jefferson County and moved to the country 20 years ago. I avoid going to downtown Louisville as much as possible.

Not offended, just didn't see any humor.

And who reads LEO anyway?

You're right, LEO sucks. I'm surprised it hasn't folded yet. LEO was much better years ago. It takes me about 2 minutes to flip thru it, maybe read the News Of The Weird, that's all.

More of my observations:

You are so Louisville when you are in the left turn lane, but just miss the green arrow (your street however has the green light), and there is no oncoming traffic, but you wait for the traffic light to go thru the sequences until you get the green arrow.

You are so Louisville if you believe the St James Court Art Fair actually has something to do with art.

Be patient, friends, I have more for later.

I'm good at this...
You are so Louisville that when an out-of-towner asks you about famous people that came from Louisville, you can only think of show-biz personalities and athletes.

Remember, I base mine on actual people and events I've encountered in Louisville:

You are so Louisville that you become irritable, cranky, and on the verge of a trauma because 5 days ago a storm knocked out your power and you haven't been able to view Fox News or see sports on ESPN since.

You are so Louisville that you assume (at your job or at the mall, even strangers) that all people are either Cats or Cards fans. And, if you find they aren't, you look at them as if they had a dead chicken tied around their necks.
