I was just wondering who do most kentuckians root for in the NFL since we don't have our own team??? In other words, if you're a fellow kentuckian, who is your favorite team?
Alot root for Green Bay Packers and Cincinatti Bengals. I don't root for anyone myself but the ones I see with jerseys on tend to be of those two teams. Hope that helps!
Back in the day, Louisville got mostly broadcasts of the Cleveland Browns. (Pre-AFL days, so this is going back to the early 60's.)
I guess most people follow the Bengals since they are so close, but the Colts have made real in-roads due to their success and the Bengals lack thereof.

Titans are alos big. But so are the Bears, Browns, Packers, and Vikings. In fact, one can find a bar dedicated to each of these teams and many more. Basically people her root for any city that has a lot of transplants in Louisville, and as the studies show, Louisville gains more domestic in migration from Chicago and Cleveland than any other cities. The Colts have gotten big because they are close, very good, and have aggresively marketed to the area, bringing players and cheerleaders for pep rallys and even using Louisville's 50,000 Watt 840 WHAS radio to broadcast their games locally. This greatly increase their radio DMA and advertising power considering Indy is a small market only about 1/3 bigger than Louisville.
Overall, Louisville is mostly a college sports town, though. If it is not UofL or UK, you see WKU, WVU, OSU and some othe rregional teams with lots of banners and Tshirts flying. Oh, and Notre Dame is fairly big too, I suppose due to the large Catholic population.

- areas West of I-65 and south of Shepherdsville root for the Titans
- Northern, Central, & Eastern KY is mostly Bengals with some Colts
- Louisville area is mostly Colts, Packers, and Bears w/ some Bengals

Migration from Cleveland more than any other metro area resulted in the largest population gains for Louisville over the 13 years we examined. Lexington was Louisville’s most consistent and second largest net supplier. The remaining top metro areas with net-in-migration toLouisville were Chicago, Evansville-Henderson, Los Angeles, Owensboro, and New York.Net out-migration from Louisville was largest to Indianapolis and Atlanta. Presumably due to the attraction of superior labor markets,Louisville lost about 1,000 persons to each of these metro areas over the study period.
