Well, I've spent this past weekend looking at some of the beautiful places in Wisconsin to live. So far, Dane County, especially the area just west of Madison looks closest to what I'm looking for, which is rural, lush green grass and trees with rolling hills. Please tell me what your favorite town or village in that area is and why. Thanks for the input.

I like New Glarus...why? beautiful drive to get there, and they have a great brewery!

I have some coworkers who live out in the country near Ridgeway and love it. The area around Spring Green can also be nice. Keep in mind that with the long Wisconsin winters, those rolling hills will not be very lush for nearly half the year. Still, they do have their moments of beauty in summer and fall.

Most of SW Wisconsin is very pretty along the lines you describe. A lot depends on where you'll be working.

I would second New Glarus, and reasonable house prices as well.

Lower taxes than Dane County. Every little bit helps!

Your right,(about Green Country) family is in Blanchardville which is next door to New Glarus, not sure where one ends/one begins.
