The UW used to have in their housing office files of reviews by college students regarding various of campus properties and land lords. Also check out Old University Ave. Allen House was OK, has an indoor pool. The land lord likes to take money out of security deposits for no reason--not huge amounts. That was in the 90's thought.

Consider Middleton. It is on the busline and pleasant bike ride to campus--around 5 mile over gently rolling hills. There is small village between Middleton and Madison. Allen Blvd. has many apartment. If you get a 2 bedroom. and 3 roommates it might be affordable. It is on the lake by a park. Mostly family housing, but nice.

Thank you, Cobalt2, but I've got my heart set on the east side. As for roommates, not likely. I have some serious chemical allergies, and most people I find are not willing to give up their "chemical addictions" Perfumes, colognes, hairsprays, air fresheners, disinfectants, etc. Kill me now...

I'd appreciate any other ideas if you think of any. All the best...
