Just thought I'd ask if there were any fellow sailors here in Maine.
I have an old Bud McIntosh ketch which he had built in 1941, and it's in pretty bad shape. I also have a home-made day sailor from the early 60s which also is in bad shape.

Hey, while I am thinking of it - does anyone know where I can get my hands on some green white oak and other wood for boat building?

Ralph

Not me. I don't like boats. Kind of comical as my dad was a boatbuilder.

truckmen, I'm not sure where you are in the state, but a great resource is Moose Island Marine in Eastport if you're up this way. Dean, the owner, has been around here for years, and even taught at the wooden boat school in Eastport the entire time it was active and part of the tech school here in Calais. Good luck! You've chosen a beautiful area to sail....sometimes complicated, but beautiful!
