Please help.
In the past I have seen messages on here to have someone get local fiddleheads,when in season and ship them to someone in another state.
I would like to buy some when the become available.
I am a Maine native living in Tacoma Wa.

If I want to walk along my brook today I'll need snowshoes. Fiddleheads come pout after your grass is green and when the spring peeper frogs start peeping. That will be around May 15.

As an afterthought, there are several species of ferns that emerge in the spring some species are bitter and stringy. Don'r wast your time picking them. The cross section of a fiddlehead stem when sliced in half with a sharp knife is shaped like a horseshoe. The head of a fiddle head is curled up and has light brown or tan fringes on each side. You'll quickly learn to recognize them.
