Channel 5 news has a story about Blanche Chevrier. She turned 110 today. She lives in Eastport. I'd say the ocean air in Eastport have served her well.

110! Can you imagine! My p. grandparents were married 72 years and I thought that was an incredible amount of time. Imagine being alive 110 years.

lol what an amazing lady she is Her son used to own an old store in Eastport called "Joe's", it was in an old building at the head of the breakwater--gone now. I was only in about 5th grade when I walked down to the store with a friend of mine, and she was in there behind the counter. A couple of teenage boys walked in with bell bottoms and pretty long hair, and she lit into them. Told them they ought to have more respect for themselves than to walk around looking like that, and how in her day a boy was taught to look and act proper. You never had to wonder what Blanche was thinking

Can't wait to move there, that means I will have at least 53 more years. Hot dog! I looked at the channel 5 website, but there was no mention of the story. If anyone finds a link to it, please post it!! I love that DW so much, plus a late start, I NEED those 53 extra years!

Is this the same woman who smoked until she was 100?
