Ever since retirement the notion of participating in the implementation and or operation of a small-scale
"green" business venture has dominated my thoughts. I have a little ancient schooling in agricultural economics under my belt, but my entire career was spent coercing computers and networks into performing the tasks they were designed to accomplish. Now that I've got the luxury of not having to show allegiance to an employer I'm in search of someone of a similar mindset with respect to the pursuit of a
"green" business. The types of things that I find appealing are
small scale "boutique" aquaculture operations or
"green" energy related activities. I'm not out to build an empire or save the world, but merely to have a positive impact in and on the local area while having a bit of fun and maybe even making a few bucks in the process.
Are there any other retiree members of this forum who have ever harbored similar thoughts? If so, do you want to discuss the possibility of moving beyond the conceptualization stage and investigating the prospects of actually architecting and implementing a business that reflects your unique aspirations? I'm a firm believer in the power of teamwork when it comes to designing solutions to multifaceted problems. Of course, it takes the involvement of the
right people in order to produce a synergy. Maybe you and I are the right combination...
