There really isn't a good route from there. My husband (who works there) suggests take the southern route around the belt way: Rt 50 to 95S. Where 95S veers off, stay on the beltway which is 495. Take that to Rt. 123 (or Rt. 7 depending on where in McLean you are going). He said leave yourself 1.5-2 hours as he doesn't really know what that stretch of the beltway is like. He comes in from Frederick Co.

I would try to take the BW Parkway south through DC to the Beltway in VA, then head West.

Anne Arundel county is pretty big. That would affect the answer to your question. If you live in the Laurel area then I wouldn't be going the southern half of the Beltway to get to McLean. Give us a slightly more specific location. I almost forgot to mention that when you say McLean, it's hard to tell exactly where you mean. I suppose most would assume, as the above poster did, that you mean Tyson's Corner. That's a reasonable guess, but it could be wrong. I would love to help if you can be a little more specific.

US 50 right through the middle of DC...
