Thanks to everybody for all the advice. In particular I found the assessments of Westford vs. Groton to be spot on (not so much Littleton which reminds me of a gold rush boom town). After looking at endless homes in both towns we decided groton is for us!! We have a signed p&s (sale) & accepted offer so the cogs are in motion.
P.s. used redfin for buying and so far extremely happy. Referred us to leader bank, unreal rates

Congrats. Don't want to scare you, but now let's hope your job stays in Chelmsford until your kids graduate from high school. It's a haul to get almost anywhere else from Groton. Even Burlington is easily an hour in traffic. Still much better than your current location though.

Congrats! Groton is a great choice and sounds like it fits your needs nicely. Although the traffic on 119 and 110 can be frustrating, there are ways around it -- depending on where you are in Groton (it is a fairly large town geographically) you'll have a couple of options to get around it and north.

If I recall - you have kids. There are great spots downtown for playgrounds, fields, and of course, the bike path. Enjoy!

Congratulations on finding your place. Groton is a wonderful town and I'm sure you'll be very happy with your choice. The commute on 110 can be annoying (all those people going to and from 495) but it'll be nothing like your current commute. Best wishes in your new place.
