I am being relocated to Wareham, MA. I know nothing about Massachusetts. It's just my wife and myself.
I need to live within 60 minutes of downtown Wareham. If you had your druthers, where would you live and why? Best larger city vs. Best small New England town.
Thanks for the help. Your responses will narrow our search. Maybe Wareham is the place.
Much will depend on your budget and what exactly you are looking for but the Plymouth area is a good place to start. Wareham has some seedy areas & crime.
Plymouth, or Bourne. I just moved down here in January and absolutely love the neighborhood I picked.
do you have the flexibility to work from home on Fridays, or have non-traditional working hours? if not, you probably want to stay on the same side of the bridges as Wareham. in that case, take a look at the towns out along 195.
Not sure what your budget is, but North Falmouth is very nice and just over the bridge. Nice Cape living yet only about an hour away from Boston. Would take you 20-30 mins to get to Wareham. If you're working traditional hours, you'll hit bridge traffic going home on Fridays in the summer, but still shouldn't take you more than an hour to get home (extreme case scenario).

If school system quality is a consideration, Falmouth is the obvious choice if the job pays enough to afford the housing. There is nothing within 30 minutes of Wareham with a higher rated school system. Unless you're looking for "city", it's the best choice.

The OP said no kids are involved.
The Cape is great but you have to contend with that bridge traffic.

Maybe you can indicate the types of amenities you are looking for in a place, and maybe even prioritize them.
