We are going to Cape Cod for vacation for 3 days next month. We are planning on taking the ferry over to MV for the day. My family consist of my husband, myself, 12 yo daughter, 19 yo daughter and possibly our 20 yo son. I was originally looking to take the ferry from Woods Hole or Falmouth (not sure what the difference is) (i think prices are 20 each round trip, instead of Hyannis at 72 round trip). I was looking at Falmouth, N Falmouth, Sandwich and Bourne. Which town would you suggest?

The Woods Hole ferry is kind of a no-brainer. $8.50 one-way. The 12-year-old gets a cheaper kid ticket. Quick ride. $15.00 daily parking. Shuttle bus between the parking lot and the ferry. Don't sweat the Vineyard Haven vs Oak Bluffs thing. A day pass on the bus is $8.00 and there is a bus every 15 minutes if you go in one and out the other.

The town and lodging you pick really depends on what you're looking for and what you're willing to spend.

Thank you for the information! I'm trying to stay under 150 a night. I can find hotels in Hyannis/W Yarmouth for under 100 a night. My friend visits Sandwich each year and loves it. I started there but then ended up in Hyannis. I figured it would take roughly 45 minutes to get to the ferry. Is Hyannis a very busy town? and Sandwich more laid back?
