There are several top rated major hospitals in Boston.

Cape Cod is at least 1 hour from Boston.

There are two hospitals on the Cape - Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis and Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth. Both are part of Cape Cod Healthcare and they have 27 other facilities ranging from visiting nurses to urgent care to cancer care all over the Cape.

If they can't handle your situation or you want a bigger name, then off to Boston you go.

Jordan Hospitsl in Plymouth is now Beth Israel which is a major medical center in Boston. Many docs are affiliated or even work in the big Boston hospitals part of the week. The cancer care centers at Falmouth and CC Hospitals work closely with docs at Dana Farber on treatment plans. With the ease of sharing records, going from a regional hospital for treatment to Boston for care and a second opinion is easier than it used to be.

My wife and I have both been patients in Cape Cod Hospital and I would say that we received excellent care on par with any medical center in the Boston area.
