Will be in this area a lot and feel like I know it pretty well, but I'm always looking for new ideas.

My personal favorite in Waltham is More than Words bookstore. Good cause and books - what more could you want?

I don't know if you're interested in History or Agriculture, but there are a lot of events at the Gore Place.

Moody's is great. I've never been to the Backroom, but I've had their sandwiches from the deli. They also have awesome homemade potato chips.

Moody Street is basically a Davis Square in the suburbs.

Great beers on tap at The Gaff and Joco's. A new place is supposed to open up soon (maybe already open) with a ton of good taps up where Watch City used to be.
Great soups at Pho and Spice
Great indian at Little India
Good Tapas at Solea

I always make a point of getting a sandwich at Dom's. I recommend the Melenzane or Dom's special.
