I live in Southbridge and we have our own landfill. A few years ago Casella came in and we decided to hire them to run the landfill for us. There has been alot of talk lately about Casella wanting us to extend their contract, something like 20 or 30 years I believe. Problem is, it has been mentioned that Casella doesnt exactly have a great track record. They've managed landfills for a few other towns in Mass. and they've apparenty screwed these towns over and left a huge financial mess behind for the town to pay to clean up. Anyone here live in a town that had problems with Casella? I'd be interested in learning more about them.
