O'Keefe is a felon. He posed as a phone company employee and attempted to bug the phone of a sitting Democratic Senator. That tells you everything you need to know about him.

Based on what you posted (which others would dispute the way you characterize it), does that automatically mean anything he and/or his organization come out with is completely untrue?
Are we supposed to know who James Keefe is, what Project Veritas is, and why anyone should care?
He is not that well known publicly, but rest assured he is known about in both conservative and liberal circles. Naturally he is revered in conservative ones, and reviled in liberal ones.
As a matter of fact many a leftist organization is on alert to not speak candidly to anyone (not part of their inner sanctum) for fear of their true agendas being exposed.
Funny how investigative journalism use to be defended by the left. Now when their dirty laundry is exposed, they deride it, regardless of whether it has valid content.
Trouble is you cannot compromise your principles just because a story casts your own ideology in a negative light.
A perfect example of the hypocrisy is how the left only loves investigative journalists when they expose Republican/conservative wrongdoing, yet dismisses and even tries to ruin those exposing Democratic/liberal wrongdoing.
One needs look no further than Sharyl Attkisson, formerly of CBS.
She was a media darling, winning awards and the toast of the left.
However when she started to expose corruption/wrongdoing of Obama & Co, her support at the network disappeared.
Her career was eventually stymied to the point of her leaving CBS.
But don't take my word for it, just read her book;
While I do not put O'Keefe in the same class of Attkisson, few journalists are willing to do a deep dive into the leftist corruption (especially politicians) for fear of paying a price.
The left use to portray the right as the evil boogeymen who would destroy people lives who dared to expose them.
Yet the left has proved they must have been projecting what they would do if ever in power, as now that the shoes is on the other foot, they are even worse than what they claimed the right was all about.
