Thought it might be interesting to see events in this part of the world and get a real sense of the place - even though the season is winding down for some. This is an e-mail from a wonderful lady named Valiene who's done much for the community (including building an orphange - and a children's library) and also keeps hundreds (maybe thousands) informed each week! It is a very busy place..

Thursday, April 2nd will be the last Bucerias Art Walk of the season. Many galleries involved will be offering "End of Season" discounts, along with the free taste treats offered at the galleries. Bring in a
Bucerias Art Walk Flier to A Peace of Art and receive 20% off your purchase that evening. The Winged Iguana will be offering a special prize drawing. Fliers can be found at the Bucerias Art Walk Plaza, Jan Marie's Boutique, Mark's Restaurant, Sandrina's, Sweet Things Restaurant and Casabor. The Bucerias Art Walk is Thursday, April 2nd 7-9pm (Jalisco) on Lazaro Cardenas, south of the plaza.

A change at Espressions: They will now be closed on Wednesdays. On Sunday, they will serve a traditional British Sunday Roast, from 1 pm until 6.30pm. The dinner includes Roast Beef, Yorkshire Puddings,Roast Potatoes, fresh veggies and rich brown gravy. Entree price is $130 pesos. Other menu items individually priced, appetizers and desserts optional. Call for reservations (not obligatory but advised!) Espressions is located at Agustin Melgar #265 (corner of Carmen Serdan and one block behind the car wash Jeros.)

The Amigos de Bucerias General Membership Meeting will be Saturday, April 4th, at IXTA Restaurant, 9:30 am (Jalisco time). Please bring a non-perishable food donation to the meeting for the orphanage.

The Amigos de Bucerias Speakers Series will present Prevention and Treatment of Medical Problems in Mexico. The date is April 8th, Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Bucerias Bilingual Community Center. Guest speakers will be: Essau Gutierrez, MD, Travel Medical Service, Nuevo Vallarta, and Pam Thompson Healthcare Resources, Puerto Vallarta. They will talk about health care and prevention in Mexico.

Friday, April 3rd, will be the last function for this season at the Black Forest in La Cruz. Latcho and Andrea will be playing. Reservations recommended.

The Octopuses Garden, Hikuri, in La Cruz ois serving dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. every day except Sunday. The cuisine is Mexican-International. Movie nights are Monday, Thursday and Friday starting at 8 p.m. PV. They will be closing for remodelling from 20th April to the end of June. Calle Coral 66, la Cruz de Huanacaxtle. Reservations advisable

The Montessori Kinder in Mezcales, needs help. Due to a dispute between the owners, they need a place to finish the school program with the principal Flor Daza, and two teachers. They can pay 1,500 to 2,000 pesos per month. They need a classroom and a patio, for 12 children in preescolar age, 12 tables, 12 chairs, 8 bookcases and Montessori material. A contract can be signed. The time frame is April 20 until July 3rd.

The Nayarit Network Breakfast will be in Nuevo Vallarta on April 17th, at 9:30 a.m., Jalisco. It will be held at the Vallarta Yacht Club, Paradise Village. The cost is $80 pesos for breakfast, including tip. This month, we ask that you “Bring a Thing” to support the Mezcales Middle/High School. They need screw drivers (Phillips and flat head), pliers, drill and bits, hammers, sandpaper for the workshop. Table cloths and decorations, water glasses, cutlery/knives, cookware, crockery, trays, bed sheets (top & bottom), towels, blender, jars, tape recorder/player.
