Thermal spa (termales, balnearios) within reasonable distance to Puerto Vallarta or Guadalajara? (car, area)

Does anyone know a good thermal spa/balnearios fed by natural hot springs within a reasonable distance (no more than 1/2 day travel by car or bus) from Guadalajara or Puerto Vallarta? We won't be able to get all the way to San Miguel de Allende but last year in Costa Rica we enjoyed the thermal spas and would like to find some in Mexico on our trip to PVR this year. Thanks for any insight!

Not sure of any super close to Vallarta but we saw at least one when we were in the Lake Chapala area (1/2 hour from Guadalajara and 5+/-? hours from the Vallarta area) -- and then I found this link... Healing waters of a Thermal Spa in Me4xico
