City of Miami Cemetery

I'm pretty sure it's the oldest cemetery in Dade County, Fla.

There's a Jewish section, a Confederate Monument, Spanish American War section, you can find a lot of cool things in that cemetery.

Buried here are

Julia Tuttle
The Burdines Family
The Peacock Family
Dr. James Jackson

Too bad there aren't more people in Miami like you who actually appreciate history, if there were, maybe more of it would still be around. A lot of the area's history has been auction off to the highest bidder, torn down, paved over and condos built on top of. The Florida History Museum is located right by the M-D Main Library downtown, you might enjoy taking a trip there. There is also the Barnacle in Coconut Grove, which is a nice trip back in time, as well as Vizcaya, and the Deering Estate . I don't know much about the cemetaries, though.

I know this is slightly off subject, but if you get a chance visit the Hialeah Park. Its amazing and might be torn down soon! The owner is trying to build condos on the land. It's on the 11 most endangered landmarks list.

PS youmighthavetosneekin! but it will be worth it!!
