We all know that today's real estate boom is unsustainable, but for history just look at this fancy property built in the 20's:

1940s & 50s - The Aviation Building, home of Embry-Riddle School of Aviation photo - Don Boyd photos at pbase.com

Although it became the location of Embry-Riddle aviation school, after the real estate crash of 1926 it was used as a HEN HOUSE! Could some of today's monstrosities face a similar fate? Probably not for chickens, but maybe a homeless shelter? After all this old hotel looked like a luxury property....sort of like today's "luxury condos"?

LOL! Can you imagine the clean up process during the transition between the hen house stage and the aviation school stage?

There's no money in housing the homeless, so I doubt any development company would allow that use for their buildings. At least the chickens generate revenue!

it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to say whats going to happen to be honest. NPR had the best statement on this. They said No one can predict what is going to happen because never in the history of this country have we been in such a predicament. So basically we are in uncharted waters

That's a good point as history does repeat itself. We have some interesting times ahead. Maybe some of the shopping centers will become hen houses this time.
