Hi,
I am moving from New York City. Right now I live in Greenwich Village in New York City and I love people watching and just being in Washington Square Park.

I am moving to Miami soon and wanted to see if there is a Washington Square park equivalent in Miami. A park that is crowded and has lots of people and good for people watching.

Any advice?

Miami is the most un walkable cosmopolitan city in the U.S.

Man that is not good news. I was hoping to having a park, or area where I can just sit down and people watch.
Funny, Miami is listed as #5 in walkscore: Most Walkable Cities in the United States, Canada, and Australia on Walk Score

we barely have public parks here most of the parks are for communities or wealthy suburbs but there are public places like Lincoln Road that is walkable. Yes, Miami is not walkable but only to a certain extent. The city needs higher density to force that. Miami Beach and Brickell is what comes to mind for easy walkability

Miami Beach is where you can sort of get that. Miami's urban parks are not great. It is false Miami has bad parks. You just have to drive to the good ones. Also Miami of course has the Beach. What better than to people watch than the beach. In Miami most will say if you want to just sit and people watch the place to do it is Lincoln Road. It is a public outdoor mall which off of Alton Road has a small urban park and area where you can just sit and watch people that are public and not just restaurants.

Yea Lincoln road is very walkable and of course downtown is as well but of course I'm pretty sure I am missing other areas but these areas have very density.

Miracle mile, Alton road, south Miami around sunset place, Brickell, wynwood and parts of coconut grove. All of those area are streets that have sidewalk caves that you do some people watching.

Of course as others have mentioned the beaches here and in broward county are also great places to people watch as well. We do have some parks but since they are so few of them, most would be crowded.

I'll add to those who say Lincoln Road. In fact, if you are looking for the most walkable urban environment in Miami to people watch, look no further than South Beach in general. This would include Lincoln Road, the beach itself, Ocean Drive (along with Lummus Park), Flamingo Park, South Point Park and both Collins Ave. and Washington Ave.
While others might tell you that South Beach is just tourists, it also has a strong layer of full time and seasonal residents.
If you choose to live in South Beach, I highly recommend that you look on the west (bay) side near Lincoln Road if you want access to the most walkable and urban lifestyle. It's more convenient to daily services and it's removed from the craziness that comes along with the tourists.

With the south Florida heat is very difficult to stay in a park just to enjoy the people and not looking like a creep. I could only think of Lummus Park (Ocean Drive) and South pointe, both in south beach.
