My sweet spot is 70-85 and for me pool weather begins in the upper 80s. And I'll still take a 15 minute walk when it's in the 90s.

Anyway, current 8-day forecast says average highs around 74, average lows around 63, then warming up a bit over the next 7 days after that, but still lots of rain.

Is it normal for this El Niño thing to reverse weather patterns? This past summer had relatively little rain and was relatively dry, while this winter rains with summer-like frequency and relatively humid.

If so, any such reversal this cycle seems more intense than the last one.
The El Nino pattern brings extra hot dry summers and somewhat rainy winters. Beware, because when La Nina emerges it brings a cold dry winter and an exciting hurricane season!!

Most likely not, but of course as time goes by, people tend to stretch the truth.

Unfortunately, this only goes back to 1948, but I'm sure it's very similar to the 1800's when you were a kid.

Gotta admit....it feels much better this morning.

Still cool, but not that biting cold of the last two mornings.

Boy, do they get a lot of cold fronts in Miami in Jan/Feb. It goes all the way to Costa Rica and freezes them off, too. I mean all the way to the west coast of Costa Rica! It's chilly over there, too.

Head to Jakarta or Singapore, no cold front there.

I don't think the cold snaps have been that bad this year. 2010 was bad. I feel like we have had a very mild winter but

I'm so tired of all this rain and tornados. I don't like this summer weather in January. I want this rain to stop already.

I wish it would reach the 50s in November and stay there for 5 months. Okay maybe low 60s for a high.

I despised summers when I lived in Las Vegas for 25 years, to the point I virtually always for gone during those awful furnace months. But the winters were awesome. I'd debate whether to wear a light jacket or simply go with my standard golf shirt. In fact, that's still what I do in that weather. I saw Miamians bundled up and shivering a few days last week and glaring at me in the golf shirt.

I just checked Las Vegas forecast for tomorrow -- 65/42. Now that's magnificent. I wish I were there pounding the Strip for college basketball numbers in mid afternoon.

Hey, in a few days it's supposed to be 48/31. Now that's a bit of a tickle. Definitely a light jacket of some sort. If lucky we'd have snowfalls once in a while. I liked to take pictures of the whitecapped palm trees. Super Bowl Sunday had a fantastic steady snowfall during one of my early years there in the mid '80s.

If it's going to be this stupid warm in Miami winters at least keep the rain away in afternoon so I can play golf. Tonight's rain is good to soften up the greens for tomorrow.
