My husband and I are planning to visit Miami for the first time at the end of July. We are driving down there. Is it better to stay at an apartment or at a hotel? Any good hotel recommendations? I've been looking at different websites, Airbnb, homeaway, trip advisor, and booking. I really wanted a balcony with an ocean view but most places like that at Airbnb are already booked..and with resort fees, parking, or cleaning fees most places are over budget. Our budget is under $200 per night. Just wondering if it's better to splurge or stay within budget since we want to do some activities?

I think a lot depends on how long you're staying. However, the most important thing to do is determine what activities you want to do while you're here, and then determine a convenient hotel to those activities. Saving $20 on a hotel, then spending hours in traffic makes no sense!

We were thinking of renting a jet ski, head to the beach, and also experience some of the nightlife.
