Hi guys, I'm trying to get broadband for the cheapest price possible since I'm a relativley light internet user. Please share what you know is out there.

So far I found:
- comcast $19 + $3 modem/month
- bellsouth $19/month + $13 dsl/month
- atlantic broad band - $32/month + $4 modem/month

Any deals on modems would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Check to see if VerizonFIOS is available to you:
Verizon | Internet for Everyone (http://www22.verizon.com/Residential/Broadband/ - broken link)

Also, don't forget that you can get Internet through the cell service of Verizon, Sprint or AT&T
It isn't that cheap - ~$60 for 5GBs -- and better for just a laptop than a small home network, but if don't surf the web too much and travel or work outside the house/office, it's great! (Works flawlessly everywhere you can get cell service.)

Does anyone know of a trans-oceanic broadband card that isn't restricted to land or the continental U.S.?

I'm pretty sure Comcast is gonna require you to have cable and phone with them in order to get that $19 deal. And that deal will most likely only last a few months. I had a deal similar to that with them in 2006. They brought me a modem that looked like it had been through 2 world wars. Make sure they bring you a new modem model.
