Great song. He has come so far from his first couple albums. I remember working for a radio station in Northern Maine when his first album was released and the "hit" song couldn't be played... legally. "Yodeling In The Valley"

I still have that album somewhere (he sent us extras because we actually played it a couple times and the label sent extra for taking the risk on-air.)

Yeah he has. He has really found his niche, and glad he still loves the place he came from.

Beautiful clip of the UP, the songs not bad either. I don't listen to music that much and what little I'd heard of Kid Rock stuff didn't catch me but I like this song.
I have seen him on late night talk shows and turns out he went over to the mid east to entertain the troops a lot. I get the impression he and Robin Williams (especially RW) do it more than just about any other big name.
He talked about what it was like being at some FOB with just a guitar standing in the sand in front of a small group and some soldier standing next to him holding the mike. He also seems to be a Michigan fan so on those fronts I have a soft spot for him for sure.
I wonder if this song Born Free, which is sort of acoustical, stems from his experiences with the troops?

Well...I read that parts were filmed in Wisconsin and the LP of Michigan, but most in the U.P.

Some parts are obviously filmed at Lake Superior and Pictured Rocks.
