Now that the U of M dorms are opening and so much renovation is going on downtown, what businesses would you like to see open to bring people in? The students are going to need something to do when they aren't studying or going to class. What do you think the odds are that the interior of the Capital Theatre will be renovated and reused as a movie theatre? As you probably already know the front was re-done for "Semi Pro", but I guess the balcony is on the verge of collapsing.

I've never been there, but that would be great for Flint. Cities across Michigan have great theatres- architectural gems. This is what happened to Detroit's_Michigan_Theater though.

Default A parking lot?

They turned it into a parking structure? What a waste. There are so many architecturally beautiful buildings in Detroit, I hope they find better ways to repurpose them. I love the Masonic Temple. I could spend a whole week just wondering around that building.

The Michigan_Train_Depot in Detroit is another gem, which with a little help, will be renovated.

I hope they do renovate it! The new Wade Trim building is quite nice.

Isn't it beautiful!?! I hope this brings business to downtown. I know they had plans to renovate the Copa too, but I"m glad they tore it down. If they keep that green space you can see the glass side of the building I don't know why they would ever want to cover that up and it's nice having a green space in the middle of downtown. If I had the business ability I would love to open a store or something down there.

I think it's wonderful how in demolishing the Copa, the glass facade of Wade Trim was revealed. I happened to be in downtown Flint earlier this week and noticed that the land there (where the Copa stood) had a slope almost as if it was leading to underground parking. A plaza or green space, as you mentioned, would be a great use of space however.

I can't wait until Rowe and the Durant are complete!

I can't wait to see what the Durant looks like when it's done. I've always had a soft spot for that building. It reminds me of old Hollywood.

It is quite a glamorous building. I hope they preserve that flair!
