Sometimes we forget to acknowledge and remember those (especially women) who blazed the trail for the rest of us. I recently saw an episode of PBS's
To The Contrary (
To The Contrary) where the panel discussed women
still joining the military despite numerous media reports of sexual assaults.
Kudos to these intelligent women for not allowing negative hype and media sensationalism to dissuade them from pursuing challenging, unconventional, rewarding, and upwardly mobile careers. And it's all because of a few female warriors most of us have never heard of.
