The answer is no. However, they normally adhere to common courtesy, and usually adhere to the military custom of addressing a military person by there rank in most situations. Also as per fmedges statement it all depends on what customs and courtesy's you are referring to.

I agree with the addition of standing still and erect during reveille and retreat if one happens to be outdoors. No running indoors to avoid showing the proper respect (as an Army MP we would have to note who did this and report them to their superior.
Depends on the individual. Some are jerks who don't care. To them the military is just another customer, but with strange habits or traditions. Some are more respectful and these are usually former military.
They follow the customs and courtesies of indefinite E4's by possessing a great amount of experience and laziness. Not all contractors, just the stereotypical ones.
