They changed it to two vehicles now (one for the military member and one for a dependent). They also changed the way you do a PCS, you now do it yourself on a system called PIPs. Before you had to provide lodging invoices, now you don't. You get a fixed lodging expense and per diem of currently $109/day per person if you do not drive together. However even if you arrive on the same day, as long as you didn't leave together, you still were not considered "concurrent".
If you want to take full advantage of your entitlements, if you only have two vehicles, you should just drive cross county. Make a vacation out of it, stay in fun areas. Depending how far west you're coming from, you could have five days @ $109/day/person plus mileage...
