I've applied for a position with Dakota County and I've heard their family health insurance is very expensive. Since "expensive" is subjective, I would like to know some actual numbers (or even estimates) so I can compare it to what we're already paying.

I'm wondering specifically how much individual coverage is and how much family coverage is (we aren't sure which one we would need). If this is too private to share publicly, I would love it if someone would be willing to privately message me the information?

Also, if anyone is willing to share any other information about working for Dakota County (either publicly or message me privately if you are more comfortable!) that would help me make a decision *if the time comes that I need to make one...* I would be very grateful!

Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't work for Dakota County, but most HR departments would be happy to answer any questions a prospective employee might have about benefits including their cost- is there a reason you're not asking this question directly of HR and/or the hiring manager? This is a perfectly acceptable and common inquiry.

I also don't know anything about the culture of Dakota County, but in the past I have been surprised at how high Dakota & Washington County positions pay for being a somewhat smaller government entity removed from the urban core.

Thanks for the reply. If there is an offer on the table, we will definitely ask those questions. but for right now, I didn't want to seem like I was getting ahead of myself (and yet I really really want to know! ). I did notice that they seem to pay a little more than other counties in the area!
