Early Christmas wishes to you all in MS. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family and friends. I will be in MS in 4 days time, I'm glad the weather is not as bad there we've been snowed in for days.

Have a good one from all of us here.

Merry Christmas to you in Scotland. Such a small world that we can communicate this way across the globe. It appears you are coming here to Mississippi to go hunting next week. It should be perfect winter weather for that kind of thing, around 50 degrees and a mix of sun and clouds, nice and brisk and perfect for getting out in the woods.

Not just to hunt, I will be visiting my American in laws to be.

This will not be my first time in MS. Hoping for a successful hunt too.

LOL. Doctors and Lawyers drive around in their 40,000 dollar 4x4s with the gun racks, spend who knows how much on clothes, scents, oils, hair tonics, decoys, guns and all sorts of accoutrements to come here and hunt. They spend hours, sometimes days in the woods doing I dunno what. My brother gets up at 6, walks a few meters up the hill, waits fifteen minutes and walks back to the house with a deer.

Get outside town and You'd have to try to not see a deer here.

I think Ron White said it best:

(imitating his cousin Ray)
"Well, it was 4 in the mornin'. 22 degrees outside. 'Course, you weren't there... pansy. I'm in a camouflage deer blind, I got grease paint on my face, I had deer urine on my boots- I'm not sure why (as himself) I made that part up. (returns to imitating Ray) I've got a .30-06 rifle that can fire a bullet at 2500 feet per second. When that deer looked up to lick the salt lure I'd hung from the danged ol' tree, I caught him right above the eye."

And I'm going, "Yeah? Well I hit one with a van. Going 55 miles an hour, with the headlights on and the horn blowin'!" Woo, that's an elusive little creature! If you ever miss one, it's because the bullet's moving too fast. I'll tell you what; slow the bullet down to 55 miles an hour, put some headlights and a little horn on it, the deer will actually jump in front of the bullet!
