Looks like we might get our first measurable snow in Southern Missouri later this week, starting Thursday morning.

The 120 hour forecast for Southern Missouri shows the forecast for the most snow has moved from the Lebanon area (where the most forecast was showing on Monday) to now showing the most hitting the Tulsa area. Earl's GIS Radar Site Overlays Page (this link updates daily so will be different by Wednesday)

National Weather Service is showing most of Southern Missouri could be impacted NWS Springfield MO - Severe Weather Briefing

And if you have Twitter - this is a great link to follow https://twitter.com/iembot_SGF

Weather Channel is calling it Winter Storm Cleon and calling for a lot of ice. Winter Weather Live Updates: Winter Storm Cleon - weather.com Winter Storm Cleon Takes Aim

Come on snow, if you must - go away ice!!

Stay safe - and warm!

most of the country had a pretty mild winter last year, so I guess mother nature is making up for it this year.

Wow - I hope KY3 is right and its not as much as this site forecasts. They (the site) are now calling for 8-10 inches of snow for Springfield over the next 5 days. Earl's GIS Radar Site Overlays Page

Their forecast was for 6" on Monday and 3" on Tuesday - now 8". Maybe when it actually starts they will be on the downside guess again!

Still - I will take the snow over ice.

I couldn't figure out why KY3 was reporting 3 inches and this site, which is usually pretty good, was so different. Both sites actually agree.

Here is the forecast for the next 48 hours http://204.2.104.196/gfs/WINTER_GFS0...-SNOW_48HR.gif
and 72 hours - http://204.2.104.196/gfs/WINTER_GFS0...-SNOW_72HR.gif
and 120 hours - http://204.2.104.196/gfs/WINTER_GFS0...SNOW_120HR.gif

It appears Thursday and Friday are only round one.

It looks like for the 2nd year in a row Southeast Missouri will reach its historical average annual snowfall in one storm. Lots of travel issues in the bootheel.

Nothing here in Columbia. I always enjoy snow, but hate having to go somewhere.

my apartment complex here in Branson plowed the driveway but did not put Ice Melt or sand down
this is NOT the place to be when snow hits.
