Hello
I'm going to be doing some pier fishing in the future and I read somewhere that the best traps are those made by locals so who has the best ones. Thanks for your time

Back in the 60's-70's we caught crabs out on Monterey Pier with a few traps made out of old bicycle rims.

Usually we caught the most at night...

I noticed a lot of crab traps for sale on Walmarts website.

Best of luck to you. We got a lot of enjoyment catching them. We also caught jack smelt fishing & sometimes many other fish. Even once we caught & released a huge sunfish. Those were the "Good ol Days"...
